We are East Coast Gem & Mineral Society, a non-profit group of Rockhound Souls whom share the same love of Gemstones, Mineralogy, Fossils, Crystal Digging and Healing Education.
Our motto is “Let’s Just Dig”.
It’s about the energy, the bond, the camaraderie, sisterhood, brotherhood… appreciation of Mother Earth and what it provides for us to learn and love. Our Mineral Society is a “no nonsense” just-get-your-hands-in-the-earth and enjoy-what-God-and-the-universe-has-created Group of people.
We responsibly search and collect rocks, minerals, crystals, fossils and all things beautiful from the Universe, for educational purposes
We host at least one Annual Gem & Mineral event per year, and depend on all members to volunteer.
We expect everyone to contribute to the Society in some manner that helps, as it’s about balance… we take from the Earth and must give back in some manner. We join together to have fun and learn about these beautiful treasurers

Society President Crystal Moon, a dedicated metaphysical healer, discovered her passion for rockhounding when she stumbled upon a local mineral club show. Drawn to the idea of sourcing the minerals she used in her crystal healing practice directly from the Earth, she eagerly joined the club. Over the course of five years serving on the executive board, Crystal connected with members who shared similar transformative experiences.
During this time, her adventures led her to Sprakers, New York, where she bonded with fellow Herkhounds while hunting Herkimer Diamonds. The camaraderie she shared with this group, affectionately known as the “Mineral Missfits,” inspired Crystal to form a new mineral society. Her vision was to create an inclusive community where positive energy only, like-minded enthusiasts could come together to foster mineral education, enjoy the thrill of digging across the USA, and build lasting friendships in a welcoming environment.
